The French BVLOS Drone Startup Stratomaps is Joining DLE as Part of Its Fundraising Plan

13 JUNE 2024

Bordeaux, France – We are honoured to announce the participation of Stratomaps as the latest member of the Drone Logistics Ecosystem (DLE). In a world where Unmanned Aircraft Systems are becoming prevalent for safety, rescue, infrastructure inspections, and delivery missions, the need for high-quality Maps and real-time Geospatial Services are critical for planning and executing flight operations safely and in compliance with regulations. Stratomaps address these needs by processing data pertinent to the operation zone and providing Geospatial Services, such as automatic Route Planning and Dispatch Optimization, enabling drone operators to scale their BVLOS Operations.

“Collaborating with the Drone Logistics Ecosystem (DLE) offers Stratomaps unparalleled opportunities for growth and development. By joining DLE, we gain access to a vast network of industry leaders, innovators, and investors. This network facilitates knowledge sharing, co-development of products and services”. said Yvan Montalieu, CEO and founder of Stratomaps.

Stratomaps' team, experts in algorithmics and geospatial technology for the mobility and logistics industry, focuses on solving new challenges associated with the emerging drone logistics sector. Stratomaps’ solutions are specifically designed for drone operators running or looking to run BVLOS operations for deliveries and pickups. After receiving approval from authorities, operators often face the challenge of scaling their operations. Creating new routes manually while accounting for ground elevation, ground risk, civil aviation restrictions, prohibitions, and other specific dynamic data is time-consuming and error-prone. Using Stratomaps' routing solution, operators can automatically find the most optimal route with customizable constraints specific to their missions, aircrafts, and geography. Additionally, when dealing with a fleet of drones, Stratomaps' Dispatch Optimization Solution ensures the total fleet flight time is minimized to maximize the number of deliveries performed while considering various logistical constraints such as multi-dimensional capacities (weight, volume, number of packages), drone flight time, delivery time windows, drone skill (equipment), and other parameters. Stratomaps helps drone logistics companies by providing them with the data and solutions needed to scale their operations.

Drone Logistics Ecosystem

DLE is a global/virtual network of Companies, Universities, the Public/Governments, and Investors operating in the drone logistics industry. The aim of the DLE is to bring together stakeholders to collaborate to stimulate standardization in this rapidly emerging industry. Hence, accelerating cross-border marketing and commercialization of products and services of its members. Since most of the companies in this industry are early-stage start-ups with limited access to funding, manpower and expertise, DLE is the ideal platform for companies to share their expertise to co-develop products and services and/or acquire necessary cross-border market access in partnership with other members.

In the past 2 years, DLE has expanded to include 51 organizations, consisting of 47 companies, 2 universities and world's largest drone association, Japan UAS Industrial Development Association, across 21 different countries. In a short period of time, we have been able to generate several international proof-of-concept projects with a few commercialization prospects in the pipeline. The pandemic has restricted our movement and DLE has been a great tool for our members to streamline communication and product development. We are in the process to create a commercialization model to help our members reach the market faster in partnership with other members.
