DLE and Unmanned Airspace Partner to Develop a New Investment Opportunity Platform

8 Oct 2023

Singapore and Brighton UK– Drone Logistics Ecosystem and Unmanned Airspace are delighted to announce a strategic partnership to work on a platform that supports entrepreneurs in the commercial drone delivery space to raise investment. This groundbreaking partnership will benefit entrepreneurs and management teams in startups to raise funds. The partners will also provide advisory support to investors interested in this industry. As a first step, the industry partners are developing a compendium of use-cases and best practices which highlight the safety, cost and environmental benefits of drone delivery logistics, across public and private sectors. The two organisations will develop a platform which will initially provide essential market data for potential investors and startups, evolving to provide a more customised advice service. Launch date for the new platform is set for January 2023.

“The benefits of replacing ground vehicle-based logistic supply networks with drone deliveries have been proved time and time again. We want to provide potential investors with clear business cases which will demonstrate the potential of this huge global market,” said Ali Jahanshahi, Global Director of DLE.

“We need to communicate the potential of this market more effectively,” said Philip Butterworth-Hayes, Founder and Editor of Unmanned Airspace. “That means developing a new platform which brings together all the benefits which drone delivery networks have already demonstrated but may not yet be clear to the global investment community.”

Unmanned Airspace was launched in 2017, is part of the Unmanned Publications Group of uncrewed and advanced air mobility (AAM) information and news portals, which also includes Urban Air Mobility News (www.urbanairmobilitynews.com) and the Global Urban Air Mobility Market Map (www.globalairmobilitymarket.com). These sites provide unique news and analysis on drone and AAM activities around the world. Drone Logistics Ecosystem is a global/virtual network of Companies, Universities, the Public/Governments, and Investors operating in the drone logistics industry. The aim of the DLE is to bring together stakeholders to collaborate to stimulate standardization in this rapidly emerging industry. Hence, accelerating cross-border marketing and commercialization of products and services of its members. Since most of the companies in this industry are early-stage start-ups with limited access to funding, manpower and expertise, DLE is the ideal platform for companies to share their expertise to co-develop products and services and/or acquire necessary cross-border market access in partnership with other members.

Drone Logistics Ecosystem Members

In the past 2 years, DLE has expanded to include 58 organizations, consisting of 54 companies, 2 universities and world's largest drone association, Japan UAS Industrial Development Association, across over 20 different countries. In a short period of time, we have been able to generate several international proof-of-concept projects with a few commercialization prospects in the pipeline. The pandemic has restricted our movement and DLE has been a great tool for our members to streamline communication and product development. We are in the process to create a commercialization model to help our members reach the market faster in partnership with other members.
